passenger position. Thepassenger airbagstatus
indicator,ifequipped, isvisibleontheoverhead console
whenthevehicleisstarted.
Thepassenger sensingsystemwillturnofftheright
frontpassenger frontalairbagundercertainconditions.
Thedriverairbag,seat‐mountedsideimpactairbags,
andtheroof-rail airbagsarenotaffectedbythe
passenger sensingsystem.
Inaddition, ifthevehiclehasapassenger sensing
systemfortherightfrontpassenger position, thelabel
onthevehicle's sunvisorsrefersto“ADVANCED
AIRBAGS”.
Thepassenger sensingsystemworkswithsensorsthat
arepartoftherightfrontpassenger seatandsafety
belt.Thesensorsaredesigned todetectthepresence
ofaproperly-seated occupant anddetermine ifthe
rightfrontpassenger frontalairbagshouldbeenabled
(mayinflate) ornot.
According toaccident statistics, children aresaferwhen
properly securedinarearseatinthecorrectchild
restraint fortheirweightandsize.
Werecommend thatchildren besecuredinarearseat,
including: aninfantorachildridinginarear-facing child
restraint; achildridinginaforward-facing childseat;an
olderchildridinginaboosterseat;andchildren, who
arelargeenough,usingsafetybelts.

rear-facing childissogreat,iftheairbagdeploys.
