A: Yes.Ifyouaddthingsthatchangethevehicle's
frame,bumpersystem,height,frontendorside
sheetmetal,theymaykeeptheairbagsystemfrom
workingproperly.Changingormovinganypartsof
thefrontseats,safetybelts,theairbagsensingand
diagnostic module,steering wheel,instrument panel,
roof-rail airbagmodules,ceiling headliner orpillar
garnishtrim,overhead console, frontsensors, side
impactsensors, rollover sensormodule,orairbag
wiringcanaffecttheoperation oftheairbagsystem.
{WARNING:
Forupto10secondsaftertheignition isturnedoff
andthebatteryisdisconnected, anairbagcanstill
inflateduringimproper service. Youcanbeinjured
ifyouareclosetoanairbagwhenitinflates. Avoid
yellowconnectors. Theyareprobably partofthe
airbagsystem.Besuretofollowproperservice
procedures, andmakesurethepersonperforming
workforyouisqualified todoso.
Inaddition, thevehiclemayhaveapassenger
sensingsystemfortherightfrontpassenger
position, whichincludes sensorsthatarepartofthe
passenger seat.Thepassenger sensingsystem
maynotoperateproperly iftheoriginal seattrimis
replaced withnon-GMcovers,upholstery ortrim,
orwithGMcovers,upholstery ortrimdesignedfora
