Thefollowing messages mayappearintheDIC:
SIDEBLINDZONEALERTSYSTEMOFF: This
messageindicates thatthedriverhasturnedthe
systemoff.
SBZAdoesnotoperatewhentheleftorrightcorners
oftherearbumperarecoveredwithmud,dirt,snow,
ice,slush,orinheavyrainstorms. Forcleaning
instructions, seeWashingYourVehicleonpage7‑102.
IftheDICstilldisplays theSIDEBLINDZONESYSTEM
UNAVAILABLEmessageaftercleaningthebumper,see
yourdealer/retailer.
SIDEBLINDZONESYSTEMUNAVAILABLE: This
messageindicates thattheSBZAsystemisdisabled
eitherbecausethesensorisblockedandcannotdetect
vehicles inyourblindzone,orthevehicleispassing
throughanopenfieldofviewarea,suchasthedesert,
wherethereisinsufficient dataforoperation. The
sensormaybeblockedbymud,dirt,snow,ice,slush,
orevenheavyrainstorms. Thismessagemayalso
activate duringheavyrainorduetoroadspray.The
vehicledoesnotneedservice. Forcleaning, see

TheSBZAdisplays mayremainonifatraileris
attached tothevehicle, orabicycleorobjectis
extending outtoeithersideofthevehicle.
WhenSBZAisdisabled foranyreasonotherthanthe
driverturningitoff,thedriverwillnotbeabletoturn
SBZAbackonusingtheDIC.TheSIDEBLINDZONE
ALERTONoptionwillnotbeselectable iftheconditions
fornormalsystemoperation arenotmet.Untilnormal
operating conditions forSBZAaremet,youshouldnot
relyuponSBZAwhiledriving.
SERVICESIDEBLINDZONEALERTSYSTEM: Ifthis
messageappears,bothSBZAdisplays willremainon
indicating thereisaproblemwiththeSBZAsystem.
Ifthesedisplays remainonaftercontinued driving,
thesystemneedsservice. Takethevehicleto
yourdealer/retailer.
