driving. Thefanscanturnoffifnocoolingisrequired.
Underheavyvehicleloading, trailertowing,and/orhigh
outsidetemperatures, orifyouareoperating theair
conditioning system,thefanscanchangetohighspeed
andyoumighthearanincrease infannoise.Thisis
normalandindicates thatthecoolingsystemis
functioning properly.Thefanschangetolowspeed
whenadditional coolingisnolongerrequired.
Ifanoverheated enginecondition existsandthe
ENGINEPOWERISREDUCEDmessageisdisplayed,
anoverheat protection modewhichalternates firing
groupsofcylinders helpspreventenginedamage.In
thismode,youwillnoticealossinpowerandengine
performance. Thisoperating modeallowsthevehicleto
bedriventoasafeplaceinanemergency.Driving
extended miles(km)and/ortowingatrailerinthe
overheat protection modeshouldbeavoided.
Notice: Afterdrivingintheoverheated engine
protection operating mode,toavoidenginedamage,
allowtheenginetocoolbeforeattempting any
repair.Theengineoilwillbeseverely degraded.
Repairthecauseofcoolantloss,changetheoiland
