Disconnect theredpositive(+)cablefromthe
othervehicle.
Returntheremotepositive(+)terminal   cover,
ifthevehiclehasone,toitsoriginal    position.

IfyourvehicleisequippedwithAll-Wheel    Drive,besure
toperformthelubricant  checksdescribed inthis
section. Therearetwoadditional  systemsthatneed
lubrication.
WhentoCheckLubricant
(A)DrainPlug(B)FillerPlug
RefertotheMaintenance  Schedule todetermine how
oftentocheckthelubricant.   SeeScheduled
Maintenance onpage8‑3.
Togetanaccurate  reading, thevehicleshouldbeona
levelsurface.
Ifthelevelisbelowthebottomofthefillerplughole,
locatedonthetransfer  case,you'llneedtoaddsome
lubricant. Addenoughlubricant toraisetheleveltothe
bottomofthefillerplughole.Usecarenotto
overtighten theplug.
