Ifalockeddriverdoorisopenedwithoutusingthe
RKEtransmitter,atensecondpre-alarm willoccur.
Thehornwillchirpandthelightswillflash.Ifthekeyis
notplacedintheignition andturnedtoSTARTorthe
doorisnotunlockedbypressing theunlockbuttonon
theRKEtransmitter duringthetensecondpre-alarm,
thealarmwillgooff.Yourvehicle's headlamps willflash
andthehornwillsoundforabout30seconds,thenwill
turnofftosavethebatterypower.
TestingtheAlarm
Totestthealarm:
1. Frominsidethevehicle, lowerthedriver's window
andopenthedriver's door.

Activate thesystembylockingthedoorswiththe
powerdoorlockswitchwhilethedoorisopen,
orwiththeRKEtransmitter.

Getoutofthevehicle, closethedoorandwaitfor
thesecurity lighttogoout.
Thetheft-deterrent systemwillnotactivate ifthedoors
arelockedwiththevehicle's keyorthemanualdoor
lock.Itactivates onlyifyouusethepowerdoorlock
switchwiththedooropenortheRKEtransmitter.
Youshouldalsorememberthatyoucanstartyour
vehiclewiththecorrect ignition keyifthealarmhas
beensetoff.
Thenreachinthroughthewindow,unlockthe
doorwiththemanualdoorlockandopenthedoor.
Thisshouldsetoffthealarm.
Whilethealarmisset,thepowerdoorunlockswitchwill
notwork.
Toavoidsettingoffthealarmbyaccident:
Ifthealarmdoesnotsoundwhenitshouldbutthe
headlamps flash,checktoseeifthehornworks.

FusesandCircuitBreakers onpage7‑108.

Ifyoudonotwanttoactivate thetheft-deterrent
system,thevehicleshouldbelockedwiththedoor
keyafterthedoorsareclosed.
AlwaysunlockthedoorswiththeRKEtransmitter.
Unlocking adooranyotherwaywillsetoffthe
alarmifitisarmed.
Ifthealarmdoesnotsoundortheheadlamps do
notflash,thevehicleshouldbeserviced byyour
dealer/retailer.

Ifyousetoffthealarmbyaccident, pressunlockonthe
RKEtransmitter orplacethekeyintheignition andturn
ittoSTARTtoturnoffthealarm.Thealarmwillnotstop
ifyoutrytounlockadooranyotherway.
