B,andC,representing thetire'sresistance tothe
generation ofheatanditsabilitytodissipate heat
whentestedundercontrolled conditions ona
specified indoorlaboratory testwheel.Sustained
hightemperature cancausethematerial ofthe
tiretodegenerate andreducetirelife,and
excessive temperature canleadtosuddentire
failure. ThegradeCcorresponds toalevelof
performance whichallpassenger cartiresmust
meetundertheFederal MotorVehicleSafety
Standard No.109.GradesBandArepresent
higherlevelsofperformance onthelaboratory test
wheelthantheminimumrequired bylaw.Itshould
benotedthatthetemperature gradeforthistireis
established foratirethatisproperly inflated and
notoverloaded. Excessive speed,underinflation,
orexcessive loading, eitherseparately orin
combination, cancauseheatbuildup andpossible
tirefailure.
Thetiresandwheelsonyourvehiclewerealignedand
balanced carefully atthefactorytogiveyouthelongest
tirelifeandbestoverallperformance. Adjustments to
wheelalignment andtirebalancing willnotbe
necessary onaregularbasis.However,ifyounotice
unusualtirewearoryourvehiclepullingtoonesideor
theother,thealignment mightneedtobechecked.
Ifyounoticeyourvehiclevibrating whendrivingona
smoothroad,thetiresandwheelsmightneedtobe
rebalanced. Seeyourdealer/retailer forproper
diagnosis.
WheelReplacement
Replaceanywheelthatisbent,cracked, orbadly
rustedorcorroded. Ifwheelnutskeepcomingloose,
thewheel,wheelbolts,andwheelnutsshouldbe
replaced. Ifthewheelleaksair,replaceit(exceptsome
aluminum wheels,whichcansometimes berepaired).

Yourdealer/retailer willknowthekindofwheel
youneed.
Eachnewwheelshouldhavethesameload-carrying
capacity,diameter,width,offset,andbemountedthe
samewayastheoneitreplaces.
