Ifyouareparkingonahillandyoudonotshiftthe
transmission intoP(Park)properly,theweightofthe
vehiclecanputtoomuchforceontheparkingpawlin
thetransmission. Itmightbedifficult topulltheshift
leveroutofP(Park).Thisiscalledtorquelock.To
preventtorquelock,settheparkingbrakeandthenshift
intoP(Park)properly beforeyouleavethedriverseat.

Ifthevehiclehasanuncharged batteryorabattery
withlowvoltage,trycharging orjumpstarting the

Whenyouarereadytodrive,movetheshiftleveroutof
P(Park)beforereleasing theparkingbrake.
Movetheshiftlevertothedesiredposition.
IfyoustillareunabletoshiftoutofP(Park):
Iftorquelockdoesoccur,youmightneedtohave
anothervehiclepushyoursalittleuphilltotakesomeof
thepressurefromtheparkingpawlinthetransmission.
Thenyoushouldbeabletopulltheshiftleverout
ofP(Park).

shiftleverallthewayintoP(Park).
