becauseitisalsopartofthevehicleweight.TheGross
VehicleWeight(GVW)includesthecurbweightofthe
vehicle, anycargocarried init,andthepeoplewhowill
beridinginthevehicleaswellastrailertongueweight.
Vehicleoptions,equipment, passengers andcargoin
thevehiclereducetheamountoftongueweightthe
vehiclecancarry,whichwillalsoreducethetrailer
weightthevehiclecantow.SeeLoadingtheVehicle on
page 6‑32 formoreinformation aboutthevehicle's
maximumloadcapacity.

15percentandfifthwheelorgooseneck kingpinweight
shouldbe15to25percentoftheloadedtrailerweight
uptothemaximumsforvehicleseriesandhitchtype
