canbebadlyinjuredorkilledbythefrontal
airbagsiftheyinflate. Neversecureachild
restraint inthecenterfrontseat.Itisalwaysbetter
tosecureachildrestraint inarearseat.
MakesurethataLATCH-compatiblechildrestraint
isproperly installed usingtheanchors, orusethe
vehicle's safetybeltstosecuretherestraint, following
theinstructions thatcamewiththatrestraint, andalso
theinstructions inthismanual.Wheninstalling achild
restraint withatoptether,youmustalsouseeitherthe
loweranchorsorthesafetybeltstoproperly securethe
childrestraint. Achildrestraint mustneverbeattached
usingonlythetoptetherandanchor.
Donotusechildrestraints inthecenterfrontseat
position.
Whensecuring achildrestraint inarearseating
position, studytheinstructions thatcamewithyourchild
restraint tomakesureitiscompatible withthisvehicle.
Wherever achildrestraint isinstalled, besuretosecure
thechildrestraint properly.
Keepinmindthatanunsecured childrestraint can
movearoundinacollision orsuddenstopandinjure
peopleinthevehicle. Besuretoproperly secureany
childrestraint inyourvehicle —evenwhennochild
isinit.
InordertousetheLATCHsysteminyourvehicle, you
needachildrestraint thathasLATCHattachments.
Thechildrestraint manufacturer willprovideyouwith
instructions onhowtousethechildrestraint andits
attachments. Thefollowing explainshowtoattacha
childrestraint withtheseattachments inyourvehicle.
