theethanolcontentisgreaterthan85%.
E85haslessenergypergallonthangasoline, soyou
willneedtorefillthefueltankmoreoftenwhenusing
E85thanwhenyouareusinggasoline. SeeFillingthe

Fillingthefueltankwithfuelmixturesthatdonotmeet
ASTMspecifications canaffectdriveability andcould
causethemalfunction indicator lamptocomeon.
Notice: Thisvehiclewasnotdesigned forfuelthat
containsmethanol. Donotusefuelcontaining
methanol. Itcancorrodemetalpartsinthefuel
systemandalsodamageplasticandrubberparts.
Thatdamagewouldnotbecoveredunderthe
vehiclewarranty.
Toensurequickstartsinthewintertime, theE85fuel
mustbeformulated properly foryourclimateaccording
toASTMspecification D5798.Ifyouhavetrouble
starting onE85,itcouldbebecausetheE85fuelisnot
properly formulated foryourclimate. Ifthishappens,
switching togasoline oraddinggasoline tothefueltank
canimprovestarting. Forgoodstarting andheater
efficiency below0°C(32°F),thefuelmixinthefueltank
shouldcontainnomorethan70%ethanol. Itisbestnot
toalternate repeatedly betweengasoline andE85.
Ifyoudoswitchfuels,itisrecommended thatyou
addasmuchfuelaspossible —donotaddlessthan
FuelsinForeignCountries
Ifyouplanondrivinginanothercountryoutsidethe
UnitedStatesorCanada,theproperfuelmightbehard
tofind.Neveruseleadedgasolineoranyotherfuelnot
recommended intheprevious textonfuel.Costly
repairscausedbyuseofimproper fuelwouldnotbe
coveredbythevehiclewarranty.
Tocheckthefuelavailability,askanautoclub,
orcontactamajoroilcompanythatdoesbusiness in
thecountrywhereyouwillbedriving.
