(DRL)andtheautomatic headlamp systemssothat
drivingunderbridgesorbrightoverhead streetlights
doesnotaffectthesystem.TheDRLandautomatic
headlamp systemisonlyaffectedwhenthelightsensor
detectsachangeinlighting lastinglongerthanthe
delay.
FogLamps
Forvehicles withfoglamps,thecontrolislocatednext
totheexterior lampscontrolontheinstrument panelto
theleftofthesteering column.
#(FogLamps): Pressthebuttontoturnthefoglamps
onoroff.Aindicator lightcomesonintheinstrument
panelcluster.Theignition mustbeintheON/RUN
position forthefoglampstocomeon.
Ifthevehicleisstartedinadarkgarage,theautomatic
headlamp systemwillcomeonimmediately.Oncethe
vehicleleavesthegarage,ittakesapproximately
oneminutefortheautomatic headlampsystemto
changetoDRLifitisbrightenoughoutside. Duringthat
delay,theinstrument panelclustermaynotbeasbright
asusual.Makesuretheinstrument panelbrightness
controlisinthefullbrightposition. SeeInstrument
PanelBrightness onpage4‑16.
Whenthefoglampsareturnedon,theheadlamps
automatically turnon.
Whentheheadlamps arechangedtohigh-beam, the
foglampsalsogooff.Whenthehigh-beam headlamps
gooff,thefoglampswillcomeonagain.
Somelocalities havelawsthatrequiretheheadlamps to
beonalongwiththefoglamps.
Toidlethevehiclewiththeautomatic headlampsystem
off,turnthecontroltotheoffposition.
InstrumentPanelBrightness
Theheadlamps willalsostayonafteryouexitthe
vehicle. Thisfeaturecanbeprogrammed usingthe
DriverInformation Center(DIC).SeeDICVehicle

D(Instrument PanelBrightness): Thisfeature
controls thebrightness oftheinstrument panellights
andislocatednexttotheexterior lampcontrol.
Pushtheknobtoextendoutandthenitcanbeturned.
Theregularheadlampsystemcanbeturnedonwhen
needed.
Turntheknobclockwise orcounterclockwise tobrighten
ordimtheinstrument panellights.Turningtheknobto
thefarthest clockwise position turnsonthedomelamps.
