Tochangetheliftgate tomanualoperation, pressthe
switchontheoverhead consoletotheOFFposition.
Yourvehiclemayhavepowerassiststeps.
Thepowerassiststepsautomatically extendfrom
beneaththevehicleonthesideinwhichthedoorhas
beenopened.Oncethedoorisclosed,theassiststeps
automatically movebackunderthevehicleafterabrief
delay.Thevehiclemustnotbemovingfortheassist
stepstoextendorretract.
Withthepowerliftgate disabled andallofthedoors
unlocked, theliftgate canbemanually opened
andclosed.
Toopentheliftgate, pressthetouchpad onthehandle
ontheoutsideoftheliftgate, andliftthegateopen.
Toclosetheliftgate, usethepullcuptolowerthe
liftgate andclose.Theliftgate latchwillpowerclose.
Alwaysclosetheliftgate beforedriving.
Theswitchusedto
disablethepowerassist
stepsislocatedonthe
centerconsolebelowthe
climatecontrolsystem.
IftheRKEbuttonorthepowerclosebuttononthe
liftgate ispressedwhilepoweroperation isdisabled, the
lightswillflashthreetimes,buttheliftgate willnotmove.
Itisnotrecommended thatyoudrivewiththeliftgate
open,however,ifyoumustdrivewiththeliftgate open,
theliftgate shouldbesettomanualoperation by
pressing theOFFswitchonthecenterconsole.
Theliftgate hasanelectric latch.Ifthebatteryis
disconnected orhaslowvoltage,theliftgate willnot
open.Theliftgate willresumeoperation whenthe
batteryisreconnected andcharged.
Theassiststepscannotbedisabled inthe
extended position.
Ifthebatteryisproperly connected withadequate
voltage, theswitchisnotdisabled, andtheliftgate still
willnotfunction, yourvehicleshouldbetakentoa
dealer/retailer forservice.
