6. Ifthefluidlevelisintheacceptable range,push
thedipstickbackinalltheway,thenflipthehandle
downtolockthedipstick inplace.
ConsistencyofReadings
Alwayscheckthefluidlevelatleasttwiceusingthe
procedures described. Consistency (repeatable
readings) isimportant tomaintaining properfluidlevel.
Iffluidisadded,itmaytake15minutesorlongerto
obtainanaccurate readingbecauseofresidualfluid
draining downthedipstick tube.Ifinconsistent readings
persist, checkthetransmission breathertobesureitis
cleanandnotclogged. Ifreadings arestillinconsistent,
contactyourdealer/retailer.

Safeoperating leveliswithintheHOTcrosshatch
bandonthedipstick. Ifthefluidlevelisnotwithin
theHOTband,andthetransmission temperature
isbetween160°Fand200°F(71°Cand93°C),add
ordrainfluidasnecessary tobringthelevelinto
theHOTband.Ifthefluidlevelislow,addonly
enoughfluidtobringthelevelintotheHOTband.
Itdoesnottakemuchfluid,generally lessthan
onepint(0.5L).Donotoverfill.
