even when the doors and liftgate are open. While in the
“Off” position the instru ment panel lighting is at the
lowest light level and may not be suitable for night
driving.
Lights-On Reminder
If the head lights or parking lights are on after the ignition
is turned OFF, a chim e will sou nd when the driver’s door
is opened .
Daytime Running Lights — If Equipped
Fog Lights — If Equipped
The high beam head lights come on at a low intensity
level whenever the engine is running, and the transm is-
sion in not in the P (Park) position. The lights rem ain on
until the ignition switch is turned OFF or the parking
brake is engaged . The head light switch must be used for
norm al night time driving.
The fog light switch is located in the multi- 3
function control lever. To activate the fog lights,
turn on the park/ turn lights, low beam head lights,
or “Au to” head lights and pull out the end of the multi-
function control lever. A light in the instru ment cluster
show s when the fog lights are on.
Automatic Headlight Leveling — HID Headlights
Only
NOTE: Turning on the high beam head lights turns off
the fog lights.
This featu re prevents the head lights from interfering
with the vision of oncom ing drivers. Head light leveling
autom atically adjusts the height of the head light beam in
reaction to changes in vehicle pitch.
A front fog light is a lighting device provid ing illumina-
tion forw ard of the vehicle und er cond itions of fog, rain,
snow, or dust. Princip ally, the front fog light supplements
the lower beam of a stand ard head light system .
