Main tain ing Your Airb ag System

Airb ag Warn ing Ligh t
You will want to have the airbag system read y to inflate 2
for you r protection in an impact. The airbag system is
designed to be maintenance free. If any of the follow ing
occurs, have an authorized dealer service the system
prom ptly:

Modification s to any part of the airb ag system could
cause it to fail when you need it. You could be
injured if the airb ag system is not there to protect
you. Do not modify the components or wirin g,
including adding any kind of badges or stick ers to
the steerin g wheel hub trim cover or the upper righ t
side of the instru ment panel. Do not modify the
fron t bumper or vehicle body stru cture.

Does not come on during the 2.5 to 8 second s after the
ignition switch is first turned on.

Remains on after the 2.5 to 8 second interval.

You need prop er knee impact protection in a
collision . Do not mount or locate any afterm ark et
equipment on or behind the knee bolsters.
Flickers, or comes on and rem ains on for any period of
time while driving.
It is dangerou s to try to rep air any part of the
airb ag system you rself. Be sure to tell anyon e who
work s on you r veh icle that it has an airb ag system .
NOTE: If the speed ometer, tachom eter, or any engine
related gau ges are not working, the airbag control mod-
ule may also be disabled . The airbags may not be read y
to inflate for you r protection. Prom ptly check the fuse
