The rad iator norm ally rem ains completely full, so there is
not need to rem ove the rad iator cap unless checking for
antifreeze/ coolant freeze point or rep lacing antifreeze/
coolant. Advise you r service attend ant of this. As long as
the engine operating tem peratu re is satisfactory, the
coolant bottle need only be checked once a month.
If an exam ination of you r engine compartm ent show s no
evid ence of rad iator or hose leaks, the vehicle may be
safely driven. The vap or will soon dissip ate.

Do not overfill the coolant recovery bottle.
When additional antifreeze/ coolant is need ed to main-
tain the prop er level, it shou ld be added to the coolant
bottle. Do not overfill.

If frequ ent antifreeze/ coolant additions are requ ired ,
or if the level in the coolant recovery bottle does not
drop when the engine cools, the cooling system shou ld
be pressu re tested for leaks.
Poin ts To Rem ember
NOTE: When the vehicle is stop ped after a few miles
(kilom eters) of operation, you may observe vap or coming
from the front of the engine compartm ent. This is nor-
mally a resu lt of moistu re from rain, snow, or high
hu midity accumulating on the rad iator and being vap or-
ized when the therm ostat opens, allow ing hot antifreeze/
coolant to enter the rad iator.

Maintain antifreeze/ coolant concentration at 50%
HOAT antifreeze/ coolant (minim um) and distilled
water for prop er corrosion protection of you r engine
which contains aluminu m components.
