To preven t dam age to the roof of you r veh icle, DO NOT
carry an y load s on the roof rack with ou t cross rails
installed . Th e load shou ld be secu red an d placed on top
of the cross rails, not directly on the roof. If it is
necessary to place the load on the roof, place a blan ket or
som e oth er protection betw een the load an d the roof
surface.
Cargo must be secu rely tied before drivin g you r
veh icle. Improp erly secu red load s can fly off the
veh icle, particu larly at high speed s, resu ltin g in per-
son al injury or prop erty damage. Follow the roof rack
“Cau tion s” when carryin g cargo on you r roof rack .

To avoid dam age to the roof rack an d veh icle, do not
exceed the rated load cap acity of you r cross rail system
or the roof rack system maxim um load cap acity of 150
lbs (68 kg). Alw ays distrib ute heavy load s as even ly as
possib le an d secu re the load ap prop riately.

Lon g load s which exten d over the windshield , such as
wood pan els or surfb oard s, shou ld be secu red to both
the fron t an d rear of the veh icle.
Travel at red uced speed s an d turn corn ers carefu lly
when carryin g large or heavy load s on the roof rack .
Win d forces, due to natu ral cau ses or nearb y tru ck
traffic, can ad d sudden upward load s. Th is is esp ecially
tru e on large flat load s an d may resu lt in dam age to the
cargo or you r veh icle.
