If the “ESP/ BAS Warning Lamp” comes on
continu ously with the engine running, a mal-
WARN ING!
function has been detected in either the ESP or
the BAS system , or both. If this light rem ains on
after several ignition cycles, and the vehicle has been
driven several miles at speed s greater than 30 mph (48 3
km/ h), see you r authorized dealer as soon as possible to
have the problem diagnosed and corrected .
HDC is only inten ded to assist the driver in control-
lin g veh icle speed when descen ding hills. The driver
must rem ain atten tive to the drivin g condition s and
is resp onsib le for main tain ing a safe veh icle speed .
ESP/BAS Warning Lamp and ESP/TCS Indicator
Light
NOTE:

ЉThe ЉESP/ TCS Ind icator LightЉ and the ЉESP/ BAS
Warning LampЉ come on momentarily each time the
ignition switch is turned ON.
The malfunction ind icator lamp for the ESP is
combined with the BAS ind icator. The yellow
“ESP/ BAS Warning Lamp” and the yellow
“ESP/ TCS Ind icator Light” in the instru ment
cluster both come on when the ignition switch is turned
to the “ON ” position. They shou ld both go out with the
engine running.

The ESP Control System will make buzzing or clicking
sou nd s when it is active. This is norm al; the sou nd s
will stop when ESP becom es inactive follow ing the
maneu ver that caused the ESP activation.
