CAUTIO N!
Mixin g of antifreeze/coolan t oth er than the specified
HOAT antifreeze/coolan t may resu lt in engin e dam-
age and may decrease corrosion protection . If a
non-HOAT antifreeze/coolan t is introd uced into the
coolin g system in an emergen cy, it should be re-
placed with the specified antifreeze/coolan t as soon
as possib le.
Coolin g System — Drain , Flush, And Refill
At the intervals show n on the Maintenance Sched ule, the
system shou ld be drained , flushed and refilled .
If the solu tion is dirty and contains a consid erable
amount of sed iment, clean and flush with reliable cooling
system cleaner. Follow with a thorou gh rinsing to rem ove
all deposits and chem icals. Prop erly dispose of old
antifreeze/ coolant solu tion.
Do not use plain water alon e or alcoh ol base
antifreeze/coolan t prod ucts. Do not use addition al
rust inhibitors or antiru st prod ucts, as they may not
be compatib le with the antifreeze/coolan t and may
plug the rad iator.
Selection Of Coolan t
Use only the manu factu rer’s recom mend ed antifreeze/
coolant. Refer to Fluids, Lubricants, and Genu ine Parts
for correct antifreeze/ coolant typ e.
This veh icle has not been design ed for use with
Prop ylen e Glycol based antifreeze/coolan t. Use of
Prop ylen e Glycol base antifreeze/coolan t is not
recom mended.
