tongu e weight, and cargo. The label also specifies maxi-
mum capacities of front and rear axle system s (GAWR).
Total load must be limited , so GVWR, and front and rear
GAWR are not exceed ed.
Tire Size
The tire size on the Label rep resents the actu al tire size on
you r vehicle. Replacem ent tires must be equ al to the load
capacity of this tire size.
Payload
Rim Size
The payload of a vehicle is defined as the allow able load
weight a tru ck can carry, inclu ding the weight of the
driver, all passengers, options and cargo.
This is the rim size that is approp riate for the tire size
listed .
Inflation Pressu re
Gross Axle Weigh t Ratin g (GAWR)
This is the cold tire inflation pressu re for you r vehicle for 5
all load ing cond itions up to full GAWR.
The GAWR is the maxim um perm issible load on the front
and rear axles. The load must be distribu ted in the cargo
area so that the GAWR of each axle is not exceed ed.
Curb Weigh t
The curb weight of a vehicle is defined as the total weight
of the vehicle with all fluids, inclu ding vehicle fuel, at full
capacity cond itions, and with no occupants or cargo
load ed into the vehicle. The front and rear curb weight
valu es are determ ined by weighing you r vehicle on a
commercial scale before any occupants or cargo are
added.
Each axle GAWR is determ ined by the components in the
system with the lowest load carrying capacity (axle,
springs, tires, or wheels). Heavier axles or suspension
components som etim es specified by purchasers for in-
creased durability does not necessarily increase the vehi-
cle’s GVWR.
