UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR VEHICLE
Usin g Speed Con trol On Hills
The autom atic transm ission may downshift on hills to
maintain the vehicle set speed .
Also, you r vehicle is equ ipped with TSC (Trailer Sway
Control) and , if it has 4WD with the NV245 two-sp eed
transfer case, HSA (Hill Start Assist) and HDC (Hill
Descent Control).
NOTE: The speed control system maintains speed up
and down hills. A slight speed change on moderate hills
is norm al.
ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System)
This system aid s the driver in maintaining vehicle control
und er adverse braking cond itions. The system controls
hyd rau lic brake pressu re to prevent wheel lock-u p and
help avoid skid ding on slippery surfaces during braking.
Refer to “Anti-Lock Brake System ” in Section 5 of this
manu al for more inform ation abou t ABS.
On steep hills a greater speed loss or gain may occur so
it may be preferable to drive withou t speed control.
ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM
Your vehicle is equ ipped with an advanced electronic
brake control system that inclu des ABS (Anti-Lock Brake
System ), TCS (Traction Control System ), BAS (Brake
Assist System ), ERM (Electronic Roll Mitigation), and
ESP (Electronic Stability Program ). All five of these
system s work together to enhance vehicle stability and
control in variou s driving cond itions.
