Position the lap belt across you r thighs, below you r

A lap belt worn too high can increase the risk of
injury in a collision . The belt forces won’t be at the
stron g hip and pelvic bones, but across you r abdo-
men. Alw ays wear the lap part of you r seat belt as
low as possib le and keep it snug.
A twisted belt can’t do its job as well. In a collision it
could even cut into you . Be sure the belt is straigh t. If
you can’t straigh ten a belt in you r veh icle, tak e it to
you r authorized dealer and have it fixed .
