UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR VEHICLE
NOTE:
The rain sensing system has protection featu res for the
wiper blad es and arm s, and will not operate und er the
follow ing cond itions:

The rain sensing featu re will not operate when the
wiper switch is in the LOW or HIGH speed position.
•
The rain sensing featu re may not function prop erly
when ice, or dried salt water is present on the wind -
shield .

is greater than 0 mph (0 km/ h), or the outsid e tem -
peratu re is greater than 32°F (0°C).

Use of Rain-X or prod ucts containing wax or silicone
may red uce rain sensor perform ance.
•
Transmission in N (Neutral) Position — When the
ignition is ON, and the transm ission is in the N
(Neutral) position, the rain sensing system will not
operate until the wiper switch is moved , vehicle speed
is greater than 5 mph (8 km/ h), or the shift lever is
moved out of the N (Neutral) position.
A custom er program mable featu re in the Electronic
Vehicle Inform ation Center (EVIC) allow s the Rain
Sense featu re to be turned off. Refer to “Electronic
Vehicle Inform ation Center (EVIC) — Custom er Pro-
gram mable Featu res” in Section 4 of this manu al.
