Manual Com pass Calib ration
If the compass appears erratic and the “CAL” ind icator
does not appear in the EVIC display, you must put the
compass into the Calibration Mod e manu ally as follow s:
Com pass Varian ce
Com pass Variance is the difference betw een magnetic
North and Geograp hic North. In som e areas of the
country, the difference betw een magnetic and geograp hic 4
North is great enou gh to cause the compass to give false
read ings. For the most accurate compass perform ance,
the compass variance must be set using the follow ing
proced ure:

Turn on the ignition switch.

Press the MENU button until Personal Settings (Cus-
tom er Program mable Featu res) menu is reached .
Press the SCROLL button until “Calibrate Com pass” is
displayed in the EVIC.
Press and release the FUNCTION SELECT button to

NOTE: Magnetic materials shou ld be kep t away from
the top of the right rear quarter wind ow. This is where
the compass sensor is located .

played in the EVIC.
