Improp er alignm ent will not cause vehicle vibration.
Vibration may be a resu lt of tire and wheel out-of-
balance. Prop er balancing will red uce vibration and
avoid tire cupping and spotty wear.

TIRE CHAINS
Drive cautiou sly, avoid ing large bumps, potholes and
extrem e driving maneu vers.
Certain models have sufficient tire-to-bod y clearance to
allow use of tire chains. Install chain s on rear tires only.
Follow these recom mend ations to guard against damage
and excessive tire and chain wear:
TIRE ROTATION RECOMMENDATIONS
Tires on the front and rear axles of vehicles operate at 5
different load s and perform different steering, hand ling,
and braking functions. For these reasons, they wear at
unequ al rates, and develop irregu lar wear patterns.
•
Do not install tire chains or traction devices on ve-
hicles with larger than P235/ 65R17 tires. Tires larger
than this may not provid e sufficient bod y clearance
with chains or other traction devices.
These effects can be red uced by timely rotation of tires.
The benefits of rotation are especially worthw hile with
aggressive tread designs such as those on On/ Off Road
typ e tires. Rotation will increase tread life, help to main-
tain mud, snow, and wet traction levels, and contribu te to
a smooth, quiet rid e.
•
•
Use SAE class “S” tire chains or traction devices only.
Follow
tire chain manu factu rer’s instru ctions for
mounting chains.
