This system enhances directional control and stability of
the vehicle und er variou s driving cond itions. ESP cor-
rects for oversteering or und ersteering of the vehicle by
applying the brake of the approp riate wheel to assist in
counteracting the oversteer or und ersteer cond ition. En-
gine power may also be red uced to help the vehicle
maintain the desired path.
The ЉESP/ TCS Ind icator LightЉ located in the instru ment
cluster, starts to flash as soon as the tires lose traction and
the ESP system becom es active. The ЉESP/ TCS Ind icator
LightЉ also flashes when TCS is active. If the ЉESP/ TCS
Ind icator LightЉ begins to flash during acceleration, ease
up on the accelerator and apply as little throttle as
possible. Be sure to adapt you r speed and driving to the
prevailing road cond itions.
ESP uses sensors in the vehicle to determ ine the vehicle
path intend ed by the driver and compares it to the actu al
path of the vehicle. When the actu al path does not match
the intend ed path, ESP applies the brake of the approp ri-
ate wheel to assist in counteracting the oversteer or
und ersteer cond ition.
