The gau ge pointer will likely ind icate a higher tem pera-
ture when driving in hot weather, up mountain grad es,
or when tow ing a trailer. It shou ld not be allow ed to
exceed the upper limits of the norm al operating range.
WARN ING!
A hot engin e coolin g system is dangerou s. You or
oth ers could be badly burned by steam or boilin g
coolan t. If you decid e to look under the hood you r-
self, refer to Section 7 of this manual. Follow the
warn ings under “Coolin g System Pressu re Cap .”
CAUTIO N!

Drivin g with a hot engin e coolin g system could
damage you r veh icle. If tem peratu re gau ge read s (H),
pull over and stop the veh icle. Idle the veh icle with
the air condition er turned off until the poin ter drop s
back into the norm al ran ge. If the poin ter rem ain s on
the “H”, and you hear contin uous chimes, turn the
engin e off immediately, and call for service.

Electronic Vehicle Informa tion Cent er Displa y
When the approp riate cond itions exist, this display
show s the Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Center (EVIC)
messages. Refer to “Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Cen-
ter” later in this section.

TOW/HAUL Indica tor Light — If Equipped
This light will illuminate when the TOW/
HAUL button has been selected . The TOW/
HAUL button is located in the center of the
instru ment panel (below the climate controls).
