Towing Tips — Autom atic Transmission
The “D” range can be selected when tow ing. However, if
frequ ent shifting occurs while in this range, the ”Tow/
Haul” mode (if equ ipped) or a lower gear range shou ld
be selected .

Don’t use in hilly terrain or with heavy load s.
− When using the speed control, if you experience speed
drop s greater than 10 mph (16 km/ h), disengage until
you can get back to cruising speed .
NOTE: Using the ”Tow/ Haul” mode (if equ ipped) or a
lower gear range while operating the vehicle und er
heavy operating cond itions will improve perform ance
and extend transm ission life by red ucing excessive shift-
ing and heat build up. This action will also provid e better
engine braking.
− Use speed control in flat terrain and with light load s to
maxim ize fuel efficiency.
