Loose Fuel Filler Cap Message
VEHICLE LOADING
If the vehicle diagnostic system determ ines that the fuel
filler cap is loose, improp erly installed , or damaged , a
“CH ECK GASCAP” message will be displayed in the
EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Center). Refer to
“Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Center” in Section 4 of
this manu al. Tighten the fuel filler cap until a “clicking”
sou nd is heard . This is an ind ication that the fuel filler
cap is prop erly tightened . Refer to “Onboard Diagnostic
System — OBDII” in Section 7 of this manu al for more
inform ation.
Certification Label
As requ ired by National Highw ay Traffic Safety Admin-
istration Regu lations, you r vehicle has a certification
label affixed to the driver’s side door or pillar.
This label contains the month and year of manu factu re,
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Axle Weight
Rating (GAWR) front and rear, and Vehicle Identification
Number (VIN). A Month-Day-H our (MDH ) nu mber is
inclu ded on this label and ind icates the Month, Day, and
Hour of manu factu re. The bar code that appears on the
bottom of the label is you r Vehicle Identification Number
(VIN).
CAUTIO N!
Damage to the fuel system or emission control sys-
tem could resu lt from usin g an improp er fuel tan k
filler cap (gas cap). A poorly fittin g cap could let
impurities into the fuel system .
Gross Vehicle Weigh t Ratin g (GVWR)
The GVWR is the total perm issible weight of you r vehicle
inclu ding driver, passengers, vehicle, options, trailer
