THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
General Information
Rearming of the System — If Equipped
The security system will rearm itself after the 15 addi-
tional minu tes of head lights and security telltale flashing,
if the system has not been disabled . If the cond ition
which initiated the alarm is still present, the system will
ignore that cond ition and monitor the rem aining doors
and ignition.
The Sentry Key system complies with FCC rules part 15
and with RSS-210 of Ind ustry Canad a. Operation is
subject to the follow ing cond itions:

This device must accep t any interference that may be
received , inclu ding interference that may cause und es-
ired operation.
To Arm the System:
The alarm will set when you use the power door locks, or
use the Keyless Entry transm itter to lock the doors. After
all the doors are locked and closed the SECURITY light in
the instru ment cluster will flash rap idly to signal that the
system is arm ing. The security light in the instru ment
panel cluster will flash rap idly for abou t 16 second s to
ind icate that the alarm is being set. After the alarm is set,
the security light will flash at a slow er rate to ind icate
that the system is arm ed.
SECURITY ALARM SYSTEM — IF EQUIPPED
This system monitors the vehicle doors and ignition for
unau thorized operation. When the alarm is activated , the
system provid es both audible and visu al signals. For the
first 3 minu tes the horn will sou nd and the head lights
and security telltale will flash rep eated ly. For an addi-
tional 15 minu tes only the head lights and security telltale
will flash. The engine will run only if a valid Sentry Key
is used to start the vehicle. Use of the Sentry Key will
disable the alarm .
