Shallow Standing Water

shallow stand ing water, consid er the follow ing before
doing so:

is deep er th an th e bottom of th e tire rim s mou nted on th e
veh icle.
Determ in e th e con dition of th e road or th e path th at is
under water an d if th ere are an y ob stacles in th e way before
drivin g th rou gh th e stan din g water.

Do not exceed 5 mph (8 km/h) when drivin g th rou gh
stan din g water. Th is will min im ize wave effects.

hicle’s flu id s (i.e. en gin e oil, tran sm ission , axle, etc.) for

con tin ue to op erate th e veh icle if an y flu id ap pears con -
tam in ated , as th is may resu lt in fu rth er dam age. Su ch
