UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL
Vehicles equ ipped with Anti-Lock brakes (ABS), are also
equ ipped with Electronic Brake Force Distribu tion (EBD).
In the event of an EBD failu re, the Brake Warning Light
will turn on along with the ABS Light. Immediate rep air
to the ABS system is requ ired .
8. Electronic Stabilit y Progra m (ESP) Indica tor
Light /Traction Cont rol Syst em (TCS) Indica tor Light
If this ind icator light flashes during accelera-
tion, apply as little throttle as possible. While
driving, ease up on the accelerator. Adapt you r
speed and driving to the prevailing road con-
ditions, and do not switch off the ESP, or TCS.
The operation of the Brake Warning Light can be checked
by turning the ignition switch from the OFF position to
the ON position. The light shou ld illuminate for approxi-
mately two second s. The light shou ld then turn off unless
the parking brake is applied or a brake fault is detected .
If the light does not illuminate, have the light insp ected
by an authorized dealer.
NOTE: Extend ed heavy use of Traction Control may
cause the system to deactivate and turn on the Traction
Control Light. This is to prevent overheating of the brake
system and is a norm al cond ition. The system will rem ain
disabled for abou t 4 minu tes until the brakes have
cooled . The system will autom atically reactivate and turn
off the Traction Control Light.
The light also will turn on when the parking brake is
applied with the ignition switch in the ON position.
NOTE: This light show s only that the parking brake is
applied. It does not show the degree of brake application.
