The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reacti-
vated by rep eating this proced ure.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and
buckle the driver’s seat belt.
NOTE: Althou gh BeltAlert has been deactivated , the
Seat Belt Warning Light will continu e to illuminate while
the driver’s seat belt rem ains unbu ckled .

Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position (engine
does not need to be running), and wait for the Seat Belt
Warning Light to turn off.
Seat Belts and Pregnant Women

Within 60 second s of turning the ignition switch to the
We recom mend that pregnant women use the seat belts
throu ghou t their pregnancies. Keeping the mother safe is
the best way to keep the baby safe.
RUN position, unbu ckle and then re-bu ckle the driver’s
seat belt at least three times within 10 second s, end ing
with the seat belt buckled .
Pregnant women shou ld wear the lap part of the belt
across the thighs and as snu g across the hip s as possible.
Keep the belt low so that it does not come across the
abd omen. That way the strong bones of the hip s will take
the force if there is a collision.
NOTE: Watch for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn on
while unbu ckling and off while re-bu ckling the seat belt.
It may be necessary to retract the seat belt.
