THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
In the event that an investigation is und ertaken by
Daim lerChrysler Corp oration (regard less of initiative),
the company or its designated rep resentative will first
obtain perm ission of the approp riate custod ial entity for
the vehicle (usually the vehicle owner or lessee) before
accessing the electronic data stored , unless ord ered to
download data by a court with legal jurisd iction (i.e.,
pursu ant to a warrant). A copy of the data will be
provid ed to the custod ial entity upon requ est. General
data that does not identify particu lar vehicles or crashes
may be released for incorp oration in aggregate crash
databases, such as those maintained by the US govern-
ment and variou s states. Data of a potentially sensitive
natu re, such as would identify a particu lar driver, ve-
hicle, or crash, will be treated confid entially. Confid ential
data will not be disclosed by Daim lerChrysler Corp ora-
tion to any third party excep t when:
1. Used for research purposes, such as to match data
with a particu lar crash record in an aggregate database,
provid ed confid entiality of personal data is thereafter
preserved
2.
Used
in
defense
of
litigation
involving
a
Daim lerChrysler Corp oration prod uct
3. Requ ested by police und er a legal warrant
