WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES

Do not connect the cable to the negative post of the
disch arge battery. The resu ltin g electrical spark could
cause the battery to explod e.
Any proced ure oth er than above could resu lt in:

Person al injury caused by electrolyte squirtin g out
the battery ven t;
Durin g cold weath er when tem peratu res are below
freezin g poin t, electrolyte in a disch arged battery
may freeze. Do not attem pt jump startin g becau se the
battery could rupture or explod e. The battery tem -
peratu re must be brou ght up above freezin g poin t
before attem ptin g jump start.

Start the engine in the vehicle which has the booster
battery, let the engine idle a few minu tes, then start the
engine in the vehicle with the discharged battery.
If you r vehicle becom es stu ck in mud, sand or snow, it
can often be moved by a rocking motion. Turn you r
steering wheel right and left to clear the area arou nd the
front wheels. Then shift back and forth betw een Reverse

When rem oving the jumper cables, reverse the above
sequ ence exactly. Be carefu l of the moving belts and fan.
