The Blin d Spot Monitorin g system is only an aid to
help detect objects in the blin d spot zon es. The BSM
system is not design ed to detect pedestrian s, bicy-
clists, or animals. Even if you r veh icle is equipped
with the BSM system , alw ays check you r veh icles
mirrors, glan ce over you r shoulder, and use you r turn
sign al before changin g lan es. Failu re to do so can
resu lt in seriou s injury or death .

Rear Cross Path
The Rear Cross Path (RCP) featu re is intend ed to aid the
RCP Detection Zon es
driver when backing out of parking spaces where their RCP monitors the rear detection zones on both sides of
vision of oncom ing vehicles may be blocked . Proceed the vehicle, for objects that are moving tow ard the side of
slow ly and cautiou sly out of the parking space until the the vehicle with a minim um speed of approxim ately 1 to
rear end of the vehicle is exposed . The RCP system will 2 mph (1 km/ h to 3 km/ h), to objects moving a maxi-
then have a clear view of the cross traffic and if an mum of approxim ately 10 mph (16 km/ h), such as in
oncom ing vehicle is detected , alert the driver.
