fully warm ed engine is shu t OFF or before starting the
engine after it has sat overnight.

that protect the perform ance and durab ility of
you r veh icle and also allow exten ded main ten ance
intervals. Do not use chemical flu shes in these
components as the chemicals can damage you r
engin e, tran smission , power steerin g or air condi-
tion ing. Such damage is not covered by the New
Vehicle Limited Warran ty. If a flu sh is need ed
becau se of component malfu nction , use only the
specified flu id for the flu shing proced ure.
Checking the oil while the vehicle is on level grou nd will
improve the accuracy of the oil level read ings. Maintain
the oil level betw een the MIN and MAX markings on the
dipstick. Adding one quart of oil when the read ing is at
the MIN mark will resu lt in a MAX read ing on these
engines.
CAUTIO N!
Overfillin g or underfillin g will cause oil aeration , or
loss of oil pressu re. This could damage you r engin e.

Checking Oil Level
To assu re prop er engine lubrication, the engine oil must
be maintained at the correct level. Check the oil level at
regu lar intervals, such as every fuel stop . The best time to
