STARTING AND OPERATING
STARTING PROCEDURES
Automatic Transaxle
Before starting   you r vehicle,  adjust  you r seat,  adjust  the    The   shift   lever  must   be   in  the   NEUTRAL  or   PARK

Normal Starting
WARN ING!
1.  Do not  press  the accelerator.
Never   leave  unatten  ded   child ren  alon e  in  a  ve-
hicle.  Leavin g  child ren  in  a  veh icle is  dangerou  s
for a number   of reason s. A child  or  oth ers could  be
seriou sly  or fatally  injured  . Do not leave  the key  in
the  ign ition .  A  child   could   operate   power   win-
dows,  oth er controls,   or  move  the  veh icle.
Do  not  leave   animals   or  child ren   insid e  park ed
veh icles in hot  weath er. Interior   heat build  -up may
cause  seriou s  injury  or  death .
2.  Use the  Fob  with   Integrated   Key  to briefly   turn  the
ignition  switch   to  the  START position   and  release  it  as
soon   as  the   starter    engages.   The   starter   motor   will
continu e  to   run,  and   it   will  disengage    autom atically
when  the  engine  is running.
3.
If the  engine   fails to  start,  the  starter   will  disengage
autom atically   in  10   second s.  If  this   occurs,  turn   the
ignition  switch  to the OFF position,  wait  10 to 15 second s,
then  rep eat the  “Norm al  Starting”  proced ure  (Steps  1–3
above).
