STARTING AND OPERATING
Look  at the  shift  ind icator  wind ow on  the  console  to
ensu re the  shift  lever is  in the  PARK position.

Uninten  ded  movem  ent  of  a veh icle  could   injure
those  in and  near  the  veh icle. As with  all  veh icles,
you should   never  exit a veh icle while   the engin  e is
running.    Before   exitin  g  a  veh icle,   you   should
alw ays move  the shift  lever  into PARK,  rem ove the
key   from   the   ign ition ,  and   apply   the   park ing
brak e. Once  the  key  is rem oved  from  the ign ition ,
the  shift   lever   is  lock ed  in  the   PARK  position  ,
secu rin g the veh icle  again st unwanted   movem  ent.
Furth erm ore,  you  should   never  leave   unatten  ded
child ren  or pets  insid  e a veh icle.
When  engaged  in PARK, you  will not  be able  to move
the  shift   lever  rearw ard   withou t  pressing    the  shift
lever  button.
CAUTIO N!
Before  movin g the  shift  lever  out of  PARK, you  must
turn  the  ign ition  from  OFF  to ACC/O N  so the  steer-
ing  wheel   and   shift   lever  are  released  .  Otherw ise,
damage   to  the  steerin g  colu mn  or  shift  lever  could
resu lt.
The  follow ing ind icators  shou ld  be used   to ensu re  that
you  have  placed  the  shift lever  into  the  PARK position:
REVERSE
This range  is for  moving  the vehicle  backw ard . Shift into
REVERSE only  after  the vehicle  has  come  to a  complete
stop .
When  moving   the   shift  lever   into  PARK,  press  the
button  on  the shift  lever and  firm ly move  the lever  all
the  way forw ard  until  it stop s.
