Never have any smoking materials lit in or near
the veh icle when the gas cap is rem oved or the
tan k filled .
Never add fuel when the engin e is running. This is
in violation of most state and fed eral fire regu la-
tion s and will cause the “Malfu nction Indicator
Ligh t” to turn on.
A fire may resu lt if gasolin e is pumped into a
portab le contain er that is insid e of a veh icle. You
could be burned. Alw ays place gas contain ers on the
grou nd while fillin g.
Loose Fuel Filler Cap Message
If the gASCAP message is displayed in the instru ment
cluster, this signifies a leak or change in the evap orative
system is detected . Sometim es this is the resu lt of a
