Coolin g System — Drain , Flush and Refill
CAUTIO N!
If the engine coolant (antifreeze) is dirty or contains a
consid erable amount of sed iment, clean and flush with a
reliable cooling system cleaner. Follow with a thorou gh
rinsing to rem ove all deposits and chem icals. Prop erly
dispose of the old engine coolant (antifreeze) solu tion.

engin e damage and may decrease corrosion pro-
tection . If a non-HOAT engin e coolan t (antifreeze)
is introd uced into the coolin g system in an emer-
gen cy, it should be rep laced with the specified
engin e coolan t (antifreeze) as soon as possib le.
Refer to the “Maintenance Sched ule” in Section 8 for the
prop er maintenance intervals.
Selection of Coolan t
Use only the manu factu rer’s recom mend ed engine cool-
ant (antifreeze). Refer to “Fluids, Lubricants and Genu ine
Parts” in this section for the correct fluid typ e.

Do not use water alon e or alcoh ol based engin e
coolan t (antifreeze) prod ucts. Do not use addi-
tion al rust inhibitors or anti-ru st prod ucts, as they
may not be compatib le with the rad iator engin e
coolan t (antifreeze) and may plug the rad iator.
