STARTING AND OPERATING
When parking on a hill, turn the front wheels tow ard the
curb on a downhill grad e, and away from the curb on an
uphill grad e.
WARN ING!

Alw ays fully apply the park ing brak e when leav-
ing you r veh icle, or it may roll and cause damage
or injury. Also be certain to leave the tran saxle in
PARK. Failu re to do so may allow the veh icle to
roll and cause damage or injury.
The parking brake shou ld alw ays be applied whenever
the driver is not in the vehicle.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS)

Be sure the park ing brak e is fully disen gaged
before drivin g. Failu re to do so can lead to brak e
prob lem s due to excessive heatin g of the rear
brak es.
Never leave child ren alon e in a veh icle. Leavin g
unatten ded child ren in a veh icle is dangerou s for a
number of reason s. A child or oth ers could be
seriou sly or fatally injured . Do not leave the key in
the ign ition . A child could operate power win-
dows, oth er controls, or move the veh icle
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) provid es increased
vehicle stability and brake perform ance und er most
braking cond itions. The system operates with a separate
computer to modulate hyd rau lic pressu re to prevent
wheel lock-u p and help avoid skid ding on slippery
surfaces.
ABS is activated during braking und er certain road or
stop ping cond itions. ABS-inducing cond itions can in-
clude ice, snow, gravel, bumps, railroad tracks, loose
debris, or panic stop s.
