When operating in Blind Spot Alert mode, the BSM
system will provid e a visu al alert in the approp riate side
view mirror based on a detected object. However, when
the system is operating in RCP, the system will resp ond
with both visu al and audible alerts when a detected
object is present. Whenever an audible alert is requ ested ,
the rad io is muted .
WARN ING!
RCP is not a Back Up Aid system . It is inten ded to be
used to help a driver detect an oncoming veh icle in a
park ing lot situ ation . Drivers must be carefu l when
backing up, even when usin g RCP. Alw ays check
carefu lly behind you r veh icle, look behind you , and
be sure to check for pedestrian s, animals, oth er
veh icles, obstru ction s, and blin d spots before back-
ing up. Failu re to do so can resu lt in seriou s injury or
death .
