STARTING AND OPERATING
Switching from ERS to DRIVE can be done at any vehicle
speed . To shift from DRIVE mode to ERS mode, move the
shift lever to the left (-) once. The current gear will be
maintained as the top gear. To disable ERS, simply press
and hold the shift lever to the right (+) until “D” is
displayed in the instru ment cluster odometer.
CAUTIO N!
If the tran saxle operatin g tem peratu re exceed s ac-
ceptab le lim its, the veh icle computer will overrid e
DRIVE and select “5” ran ge (on six-sp eed tran saxles)
or “3” ran ge (on fou r-sp eed tran saxles) by changin g
shift poin ts. This is done to preven t tran saxle damage
due to overh eatin g.
WARN ING!
Do not downshift for addition al engin e brak ing on a
slip pery surface. The drive wheels could lose their
grip and the veh icle could skid, causin g an accid ent
or person al injury.
Electron ic Ran ge Select (ERS) Operation
The Electronic Range Select (ERS) shift control allow s
you to move the shift lever to the left (-) or right (+) when
the shift lever is in the DRIVE position, this allow s the
selection of the desired top gear. For exam ple, if you shift
the transaxle into third gear, the transaxle will never shift
above third gear, but can shift down to second or first
gear autom atically, when need ed.
