UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR  VEHICLE
Your  vehicle   may   experience   a   downshift   (autom  atic   REAR  PARK ASSIST — IF EQUIPPED
transm issions  only)  while  climbing  uphill  or descend  ing    The  Rear Park  Assist  provid es  visible  and  audible   ind i-
downhill.  This downshift   is necessary  to maintain  vehicle     cations  of  the  distance  betw een  the  rear  fascia  and   the
set speed .

On steep  hills,  a greater  speed  loss or  gain may  occur,  so
it  may  be preferable   to  drive   withou t Electronic   Speed
Control.
The Rear  Park Assist  will  rem ember the  last system  state
(enabled  or  disabled )  from  the last  ignition   cycle, when
the  ignition  is changed   to the  RUN/  ON position.
WARN ING!
Electron ic Speed  Con trol  can be dangerou  s where  the
system   cannot   main tain  a  constan t  speed .  Your  ve-
hicle  could   go  too  fast  for  the  condition  s,  and  you
could  lose   control.  An  accid ent  could  be  the   resu lt.
Do  not use  Electron ic  Speed  Con trol  in heavy  traffic
or  on  road s that  are  winding,    icy, snow-covered   , or
slip pery.
The  Rear Park  Assist  can  be  active  only  when  the  shift
lever  is  in  REVERSE.  When   in  REVERSE,  the  system
scans  for  objects  behind  the  vehicle,  using  four   sensors
located  in  the rear  bumper.
NOTE:   The  system will  be active  until the  vehicle speed
is  increased    to  approxim ately   11  mph   (18  km/  h)  or
above.   The  system   will  be  active  again   if  the  vehicle
speed   is  decreased   to  speed s  less  than   approxim ately
10
mph  (16 km/  h).
