If the fluid level ind icates that it is low, add sufficient Special Additives
fluid to bring it to the prop er level.
Autom atic Transm ission Fluid (ATF) is an engineered
prod uct and its perform ance may be impaired by supple-
mental additives. Therefore, do not add any fluid addi-
tives to the transaxle. The only excep tion to this policy is
the use of special dyes to aid in detecting fluid leaks. In
addition, avoid using transaxle sealers as they may
adversely affect seals.
CAUTIO N!
Do not overfill. Dirt and water in the tran saxle can
cause seriou s damage. To preven t dirt and water from
enterin g the tran saxle after checking or rep len ish ing
flu id, make certain that the dipstick cap is reseated
prop erly.

Fluid and Filter Changes
Refer to the “Maintenance Sched ule” in Section 8 for the
prop er maintenance intervals.
Do not use chemical flu shes in you r tran smission as
the chemicals can damage you r tran smission compo-
nents. Such damage is not covered by the New 7
Vehicle Limited Warran ty.
If the transaxle is disassem bled for any reason, the fluid
and filter shou ld be changed .
