To minim ize the possibility of catalyst damage:

Do not shu t OFF the engine or interru pt the ignition
when the transaxle is in gear and the vehicle is in
motion.

Battery flu id is a corrosive acid solu tion and can
burn or even blin d you . Do not allow battery flu id
to contact you r eyes, skin or cloth ing. Do not lean
over a battery when attach ing clam ps. If acid
splash es in eyes or on skin, flu sh the area imme-
diately with large amounts of water.
Battery gas is flam mable and explosive. Keep
flam e or spark s away from the battery. Do not use
a booster battery or any oth er booster sou rce with
an output greater than 12 volts. Do not allow cable
clam ps to tou ch each oth er.

Do not try to start the engine by pushing or tow ing the
vehicle.
Do not idle the engine with any spark plug wires
disconnected or rem oved , such as when diagnostic
testing, or for prolonged period s during very rou gh
idling or malfunctioning operating cond itions.

Maintenance-Free Battery

The top of the maintenance-free battery is perm anently
sealed . You will never have to add water, nor is period ic
maintenance requ ired .
Battery posts, term inals and related accessories
contain lead and lead compounds. Wash hands
after handlin g.
