Temporary-u se spare tires have lim ited tread life.
When the tread is worn to the tread wear indica-
tors, the tem porary use spare tire need s to be
rep laced .
Be sure to follow the warn ings that apply to you r
spare. Failu re to do so could resu lt in spare tire
failu re and loss of veh icle control.
Becau se of the red uced grou nd clearan ce, do not tak e
you r veh icle throu gh an autom atic car wash with the
compact spare installed . Damage to the veh icle may
resu lt.

Tire Spinning
When stu ck in mud, sand , snow, or ice cond itions, do not
spin you r vehicle’s wheels faster than 30 mph (48 km/ h),
or for more than 30 second s continu ously, withou t stop -
ping.
Do not install a wheel cover or attem pt to mount a
conventional tire on the compact spare wheel, since the
wheel is designed specifically for the compact spare.
Refer to “Freeing A Stuck Vehicle” in Section 6 of this
manu al for additional inform ation.
Do not install more than one compact spare tire/ wheel
on the vehicle at any given time.
