If necessary, add fluid to restore to the prop er ind icated
level. With a clean cloth, wipe any spilled fluid from all
surfaces. Refer to “Fluids, Lubricants, and Genu ine
Parts” in Section 7 for the correct fluid typ e.
PARKING BRAKE
When the parking brake is applied with the ignition
switch ON, the “Brake Warning Light” in the instru ment
cluster will turn on.

NOTE: This light only show s that the parking brake is
applied. It does not show the degree of brake application.
Before leaving the vehicle, make sure that the parking
brake is fully applied and place the shift lever in the
PARK position. To release the parking brake, press the
emergency brake pedal a second time and let you r foot
up as you feel the brake disengage.
Park ing Brak e
Be sure the parking brake is firm ly set when parked and
the shift lever is in the PARK position. When parking on
a hill, you shou ld apply the parking brake before placing
the shift lever in PARK, otherw ise the load on the
transaxle locking mechanism may make it difficult to
move the shift lever out of PARK.
